The FBI wants you to reboot or unplug your router to avoid a new Russian-linked malware attack. It’s called the VPN-FILTER. The malware software allows hackers to spy on you and collect any information that comes through your router. The malware can clog up your router and keep you from getting on the internet.

You can reboot your router by keeping it unplugged for about 60 seconds. Resetting your router destroys an essential part of the malware, rendering it harmless.
Also, be sure your router has a strong password. 8 or more characters with a capital letter, a number and a non-letter character works just fine.
